Syl Jones is the Director of Equity and Inclusion and Trauma-Informed Care at Hennepin Healthcare. He also serves at the Director of the Next Step Program and Creative Director of the Redleaf Center for Family Healing.
He is a graduate of Augsburg College, the writer and producer of more than 60 plays, and a medical journalist. He is a qualitative researcher working on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s international grant investigating co-production of healthcare services at HCMC, in Minneapolis, and Radboud University, in the Netherlands. Syl’s focus at HCMC is in instilling narrative competency for interns, residents and staff and in bringing the power of the arts to the healthcare workplace. In addition, his expertise is in interviewing patients and capturing patient stories that illuminate the human experience.
